MADDAMS FAMILY TREES PROJECT 1991-2012
We have planted 7265 trees since 1991 in the following countries
BRAZIL, BURUNDI, ENGLAND, ETHIOPIA, GHANA,INDIA, ISRAEL, LEBANON, MALI, RWANDA, SENEGAL, TANZANIA , THAILAND, TOGO, UGANDA
Inspired by the planting of a monkey puzzle tree sapling purloined from the Squire’s estate at Biggleswade by brothers Harry Stephen Maddams and Charles Cowley Maddams and planted in the front garden of their home at Hope Terrace, Hitchin Street , in Biggleswade, and by the Christian philanthropy of my ancestor Thomas Priest of Ickleford. Herts who endowed a new church, a clinic, a school, an organ and funded 1000’s of Bibles overseas.

THE WOODLAND TRUST,
Y.CARE INTERNATIONAL
These trees include 2 oaks on Walden Common, a holly tree at Four Acres, 2 trees in Hatfield Forest, a grove of 25 trees each in Bedfordshire and Sussex. Olive trees in Israel, Coffee trees in Brazil, woods in Uganda and Burundi, avocado, apple, passion fruit, eucalyptus, and orange trees in parts of Africa, palm trees, mango trees in India. Some plantings are in memory of ancestors
