The 125th Anniversary Celebration of The Boy's Brigade
as held by the 1st Saffron Walden Company and attended by members of the 1st Haverhill Company, and attended by a number of former members of BB on Sunday October 5th 2008 at Saffron Walden Baptist Church.

Two Juniors read the Bible verses that appear on every BB Membership Cards.
Sam Flicos paraded in the Colour accompanied by a Brownie carrying their Colour. One of the Baptist Brownie packs began the same autumn that 1st Saffron Walden Boys' Brigade Company in1980.
A video was projected of "Dave and the Giant Pickle" with vegetable people, being the story of David and Goliath".
The action songs "Allelu, allelu," and "Our God is a great big God" were sung by the large congregation.
Visual "Thank You" prayers drawn by the Anchor Boys were projected, led by Captain Mike Turner and several Juniors read prayers of intercession.
There followed the Rededication of the Company, and presentation of 125th Anniversary Badges to all the boys and young men, and Gold Achievement Badges to John Bowen and Jake Nash.
Lieut. Andrew Heinrich accompanied by a Member of the Company led prayers of Intercession.
A Video was shown from Camp 2008 on the Isle of Wight.
Captain Mike Turner then read Hebrews 6 verse 19 in which the BB Motto "Sure and Stedfast" is found, and told a story of a storm battered yacht that survived in a race off the French coast when a lot of others floundered. The boat was saved because it's anchor became entwined with a much larger anchor left there during the Second World War by a RN Battleship. So we too are anchored through Jesus Christ to the strongest anchor of all, GOD.
The hymn well known to over 2 million men who were members of BB "Will your anchor hold in the storms of life" was sung.
Co-Youth pastors Sergio and Elizabeth Vilela led an arm linked Congregation in saying together "The Grace".
Images were projected from BB Activities this term in the Church's Youth Hall.
Large group-drawings by Juniors were also displayed, and wrapped around the pillars were the names of most of the members of the Company over the years.
Afterwards many gathered together to view an exhibition of photographs of the first 20 years of the local Company's history, which will remain open for over a week.
These were associated with the illustrated pamphlet "First for Boys - 125 Years On" about the beginning of BB and of the local Company's first 10 years.
There are 38 boys and 12 teenagers in the Company at the moment along with 4 officers who rose through the ranks in this company,
A total of 54 out of the 438 boys enrolled in the Company drawn from all 9 Christian congregations in the town and from 12 villages. 3 of this number have since died, and 2 have been in prison.
133 have served in Company section. In all 6 became BB
officers and several others are engaged elsewhere in youth leadership roles. 19 acheived President's Badge the second highest Award in Brigade, and 8 went on to secure the highest award Queen's Badge and become Queen's Men.
