LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY NEWS
LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRY (MCCPF) Founded 1954. AUTUMN 2010
From :Administrator John E Maddams 35 Four Acres. Saffron Walden CB11 3JD UK
Our object has been “The Advancement of Christ’s Kingdom into all the world”
LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY (MCCPF) grew out of the Saffron Walden Baptist Sunday School and Young People’s Fellowship in the mid 1950’s and Saffron Walden & District Youth for Christ of the same period
IN THE UK We have continued locally, to introduce as opportunity provides, various versions of the OUR DAILY BREAD Bible study devotional booklets. These have brought some interesting responses.
During the summer we have distributed house to house in 11 North West Essex villages and parts of 3 other East Anglian towns, several thousand copies of VIA Gospel message magazine published by Brethren Christians in Canada and left Gospels in the public shelters on the cliffs at Clacton, bus shelters in various places, at several telephone boxes, and in the letter boxes of a Mosque and a Spiritualist Church advertising seances. One Gospel of John remained in a deserted seldom used phone kiosk for 4 weeks before it was taken
We have ordered 8800 more VIA for distribution next year to more villages and to revisit 2 area where new building is going up..
We now use a Gospel of John with a Lighthouse Lantern pictured on the front in the New King James Version, 1982, issued by the Scottish Bible Society and purchased from the Open Air Mission with a reply card available to them for assistance.
OVERSEAS OUTREACH, During this year we were able to send help to
Mongolia, to fund supply of 5 Bibles
Israel to provide some Children’s Bibles
Kenya 12 Bibles to Dandora Church
Philippines replacement Bibles through the Bible Society for typhoon victims
Madagascar. Bibles for poor families
Malawi Bibles for 8 orphans
China for 50 Bibles
Please continue to pray

Then he ceased to write and now we have been reunited on the Internet through Face Book. He has been through terrible times and lost everything and turned to male prostitution to survive. He has a soul that Christ has redeemed. Pray for his restoration.
Ghana

Having sold his mattress and 2 chairs to pay a herbalist for medicines all he has left is a Bible and a bed but no where to put it, and nothing else. So he wrote to me. What can I do but pray? I sent him 11 addresses of people I know in Zambia hoping that one of them may be able to help, but they can't or won't .
Zambia
for Lewis Muleba who in April 2009 successfully completed his training and was appointed a Tutor for Theological Education by extension in Zambia. He is serving as a prisoner at Kamfinsa State Prison, at the Education Bay Box 21596, Kitwe, Zambia. He and the group he works with on 20-25 years sentences also suffer from AIDS and HIV.
They need Bibles, Electric Razors they can share where as they cannot share disposable ones, Bibles, exercise books, pens, pencils, toiletries such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, flannels, towels, and shoes sizes 6 to 9. It is possible to send bank notes to him inside a letter if you don't mind the risk of the mail being lost, which seldom occurs, We cannot send it registered as the PO won't accept it. His new address is AYELE HALISO. P O Box 1007. AWASSA. ETHIOPIA. We send from time to time to help with food.
Nigeria
for Brother J Keneth of House Block N-7, University of Ibadan , Post Office Box 2094, Ibadan, Oyo State, who wrote asking us to supply 120 Bibles to a student group formed apparently through reading booklets with our address on . I’m not sure how that happened as I’ve not sent anything to Nigeria for some years but they may have reached there from Ghana or Togo. If anyone can send them a Bible direct please do so. We are trying to arrange other help. Apparently a lot of students were seeking the LORD after 8 students were shot dead. The new believers want to reach out to the other 12,000 students there.
Malawi
Bibles are still needed in the local languages at a cost of £4 each for pastors of churches and orphans in schools, and money for them may be sent to Mr Jim Figgis. ADDRESSES If anyone wants to continue to send Bible Reading Notes abroad you may do so direct by Small Packet Rate surface mail with a white customs sticker on it, obtainable from the Post Office, stating what is in it and the approximate value and marking it as a gift. These can still help and the following could use them.

Also we were enabled to reach more Muslim families across North Africa through Christian Radio at a cost of £1 per family per year. Their address is HCJB Global Radio, The Media Centre, 131 Grattan Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire. BD1 2HS.
We hope to send more help to ELAM for New Testaments for Iran. ELAM is 20 years old this year. Then there were only a few old Bibles in the country and only about 10 traibe church leaders.and about 1000 Persian believers. Now it is reckoned there are about 1 million belivers in thousand of small groups, and a good deal of persecution but some 550,000 New translation New Testaments are in circulation and completion of translating the Old Testament is about 2 years away,
Thank you for any prayer you can support those mentioned here with and any other help you may be able to offer.
