The message below is from a pastor at a friend of mine’s Funeral Thanksgiving Service ****************************************************************************************************** “In this imperfect world with it’s imperfect knowledge despite all our human progress death keeps it’s mystery. One sure fact of life we have to face up to. The mystery where by we pass from the physical material world of time into the unseen world of eternity. We struggle to understand it. One thing we do know amidst the passing temporary things there is
Faith. hope and love which are indestructible. Here eternity is discerned only as a pale grubby reflection. As one person has put it “we see it as a vast landscape in a small mirror”.
Faith, Hope and Love outlast time. When Ron had visited Doris on her 90th birthday last year her joy and pleasure was to show him the beautiful flowers in her lounge and on her balcony, and her family photographs of parents, husband, son, grandchildren. . These were the timeless treasures of her life, beautiful things and happy relationships.
Faith, hope and love last for ever Doris grew up with her parents in Ashdon, worked in service caring for other people, married, raised a family., was a good neighbour, a loyal useful member of a worshipping congregation of Christians, what more can be asked
Each day brings us closer to eternity when we may see Jesus and those we have loved face to face and stand there unashamed
