INTRODUCING
THE LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY
UPDATED June 15 2015
THE LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY (MCCPF) Founded 1954.
From :Administrator John E Maddams Saffron Walden CB11 3JD UK
Our object has been “The Advancement of Christ’s Kingdom into all the World”
Our outreach is to the villages of North West Essex and South Cambridgeshire and contacts in
Angola, Cameroon, Ghana, Iran, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique,
Nigeria, North Korea, South Africa, Senegal, Somali, Ukraine, &.Zambia
THE KEY TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE IS PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER
Web Board sites lhpm.proboards.com or lthopm.proboards.com
One important way that we work together is by praying.
Indeed too much doing can stop us being.
PRAYER is not a subsitute for WORK. It is WORK and it is more important than WORK because it puts us in touch with the energy source that supplies us the power to WORK and for that to be effective.
To do it right requires rigorous discipline.
Prayer is not merely a religious exercise but a human necessity.
PRAYER is the Christian's secret weapon
The secret Weapon of the Kingdom of God
At the speed of thought we can reach any where on this planet and to any person, simply by just naming them, routing them through God, through the power of the Name of Jesus Christ.
SATAN has no defence against this weapon, so he tries to delay us using it or fill our time with less important things such as pleasures and past times, so we can get so busy we don't appear to have time to spare to pray.
SATAN does not have any anti-prayer weapon. Once we have started he cannot put interference in the way. We have direct access to the throne room of the Kingdom of Heaven, to Jesus Christ Himself and to the Holy Spirit and those who serve him from there.
In prayer meetings and services often far too much time is spent in waffle and talking to each other, often about what we are going to pray about, instead of getting down to actually praying - talking with God.
People we cannot reach any other way, can be reached by way of the throne of grace.
It is more effective than the best mobile phone as those messages go through earth bound orbitting satelites, but prayer goes through the throne room of Heaven at the speed of thought, much quicker than even light.
WE DON'T PRAY BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE WE CAN DO
WE PRAY BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST THING WE CAN DO.

THE LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY ( MCCPF ) grew out of the Saffron Walden Baptist Sunday School
and Young People’s Fellowship in Essex, England UK the mid 1950’s.
We began in 1954 as a Charity Collecting Centre recycling milk bottle tops, used stamps, matchbox labels, spectacles, old iron, newspapers, jam jars, comics, magazines, wool, second hand clothes.
Materials that could be passed on to children's wards, orphanages, elderly folk or sold to raise money for charity. To that in 1955 we added a Scripture Union branch, and wayside text posters on hired sites.
From 1956 we added a Christian Bookstall ministry, a 500 volume Christian lending library, coach excursions to evangelistic events, subscription circulations of CRUSADE magazine and VISTA the BYFC magazine.
God enabled us from 1958 to begin Bible placements and sending Christian literature overseas, and publishing locally our own coloured magazine MESSAGE. Over the years we have published successive editions of our Church History booklets and leaflets, and Boys Brigade Camp magazines.
We organised in the 1980's the circulation of the Church magazine and circulated cassette recordings of our church services to folk unable to come and to prisoners and people overseas.
We have co-ordinated supplies from various countries of Christian literature to pastors in many countries, and sent out audio visual equipment. We have used several pen pal outlets and reached out to help people in 176 countries.
We supplied Gospel literature to over 5000 members of the LOOK & LEARN youth magazine Pen Pal club aged 8-18 across 100 countries. When the OAP paper YOURS was first launched free we were circulating 750 copies locally..
God enabled us to be involved in projects smuggling Scriptures into Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Turkey, the Middle East and other Moslem nations.
We were enabled to help stock a library for pastors in Northern India, helped fund a radio programme to Tibet and a telecast in the Ukraine, and dub languages to the JESUS film. We have funded Bibles and New Testaments to soldiers, airmen, cadets and ships of the line in the UK. Provided wheel chairs for use in Ghana, bicycles to pastors in various countries, We have funded Bibles, Testaments, Bible Study material and books for use in many countries. We have planted 7698 trees in 18 countries, funded a couple of bore holes for fresh water supplies and helped buy land in Ghana and Ukraine for agricultural projects.
We supplied a petrol driven generator to a new village church in Ghana so they can meet at night, and supplied hymn books.
IN ETHIOPIA we helped a self help project that 4 evangelical churches entered into upon our advice, with collecting timber, and providing volunteer staff labouring, to build a house for Ayele Haliso a lay evangelist assistant minister who years ago we funded the cost of his teacher training. With him in the house will stay his 4 sibling brothers . the youngest in his late teens.
We supplied clothing for them and educational supplies so he can teach them to read and write. They are all faithful Christians.
From Walden we supplied them metal roofing and took out an interest free loan to pay for a professional carpenter.
To get churches there working together is an achievement in itself, so let us pray they will continue to work, witness and pray together more and more..
We have supplied New Testaments to soldiers in Zambia, provided school supplies, pictures and maps to a school in Malawi. Bibles to prisoners in Zambia and pastors of new churches in Malawi, Mozambique and Pakistan.
Since 1999 we have produced the Four Acres Community monthly newsletter FAN and some editions of the LANGLEY Messenger. Since 2003 we have operated 2 web board sites which include our Church history documents linked to the Church site.
God enabled us from 2003-2009 to deliver once off with local church contact information to most homes in Saffron Walden the 12 paged NEW LIFE NEWS newspaper and since 2009 we have delivered the Canadian Gospel Magazine VIA, once off to thousands of homes in Sawston, Linton, Duxford, Whittlesford, Dunmow, Stansted, Thaxted and all Uttlesford villages and hamlets offering follow up opportunities of 10 websites, a phone ministry in N Ireland, Premier Christian Radio, TRINITY TV on Channel 65 on Freeview and the Christian Enquiry Agency and Words of Life Trust.
Fifteen years ago we received a request from a young evangelist Jackson Chanda in Northern Zambia for Bibles, Bible study material, second hand Bible Study notes, cassettes and videos for new evangelism, and church planting in the Nchelenge district on the coast facing Lake Mweru on the Zambian/Congo Border. 7 years ago he and his wife Christine established a congregation which has now grown to 80 and he is Elder in Charge with 4 elders to help him, We were asked to supply Good News Bibles and friends at Walden, Ramsgate, Bishop's Stortford and Newport provided around 100.
Jackson uses a bike to get around his congregations but much cycling has caused problems with his legs.
He had to take 2 months out for treatment to them. We paid for his treatment and he is OK now.
10 years ago that church began evangelising with missions on 3 islands on the Lake in the swamplands from which
a river flows as a tributary of the Congo River. There are now 3 congregations on these islands in all about 500 people for whom we were invited to supply Bibles as they are all too poor to buy them.
We supplied 134 in the Bemba language and 72 large print at £5 a copy in English These are being used in the 3 churches by dividing the congregations into small groups to share them and study them together.
There is an elder in charge of these 3 churches Donald Kapasa and two assistant elders Webby Musonda and Fred Bangwe, and 8 lay preachers. We have supplied Study Bibles to each of these 3 church leaders. Jackson and Christine have 4 children of their own but several years ago they adopted 10 Aids Orphans and we funded their education and 3 of us share the cost still of six . ] In 2013 we also paid for their food from May to December due to sharp rises in food prices because of crop failure, a programme was set up five years ago to give local young people vocational training. We were asked to help pay the freight costs and haulage costs of a shipping a container of training equipment, 2 computers and some typewriters, bicycles and wheel chairs from TOOLS WITH A MISSION in Ipswich to the church at Nchelenge to be used in community groups where local volunteers would teach young people various crafts and trade skills and from the sale of the products they make the children being educated are to be funded with other help to the community. Members of our Congregation contributed £800 to get the equipment there.
We were asked whether we can fund the freight and haulage costs of another shipping container of training equipment for the creation in a nearby village of a Club and training scheme for disabled people. Over 100 of them have joined up to a Together We Survive Group, and are visiting the elderly and disabled caring for them as best they can with sparse resources. We agreed
T

May I also ask for prayer support for Christian Witness to Israel. Their roots go back into the mid 19th century, and they work amongst Jews in Australia, Bulgaria. France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, the UK and have just begun work in the USA. Their largest community now is in Israel, created for them in 1948 amidst much continuing hostility towards them from Arab and other Muslim nations. Within 30 years it is estimated that the majority of the world’s Jews will live there. So CWI are anxious to recruit and train new young Jewish Christians who will be able to work in Israel as evangelists of the fast growing Christian Church in Israel. For about a decade they have been working on a new Bible in modern Hebrew. All the Old Testament up to Proverbs have been published since 2001. To discover more contact them at CWI Worldwide 166 Main Road, Sundridge, Sevenoaks, Kent TN1 6EL. www.cwi.org.uk and www.shalom,org.uk. We supply them our foreign stamps to sell.
