READY TO GO ?

A man decided to arrange his funeral
He picked his burial plot and chose the inscription for the head stone .A Minister who knew him well heard that he was busily preparing for the inevitable day. So he sought him out and said to him “I understand that you have done everything you can possibly do to provide a resting place for your body. have you given any thought to a resting place for your soul.?” The man was stunned by the question for it was true that he had not thought about getting ready for the life to come. After listening to what the minister had to say explaining the good news of Jesus he placed his trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and found assurance of eternal life and rest. wise is the person who makes that all important preparation because everybody will spend eternity somewhere
Those who believe in Christ, and that means those who actively love him, seek to serve him and live as he teaches us to do, will enter the kingdom prepared for all who love Him. Those who reject Christ will enter into everlasting fire (Matthew 25 vv 34 and 41) so taught Jesus
No one knows when their death will come. A friend of mine who claimed to be an atheist died suddenly in bed of a heart attack at night a month after retiring. But we can be and should be ready. The Bible says “Whosoever calls on the Name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10 v 13) Nothing you can do on Earth is more important than making sure that you are ready to go. Most of the life we were born to, lies beyond death, and it is w to prepare for it

Oh to be ready when death does come
Oh to be ready to hasten Home
and sweetly gently to pass away
From Earth’s dim twilight and into Day
Only those who are ready to die, are ready to live.

JESUS SAID I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." John 14 v 6
We must not be fooled by those who teach any other way to GOD and we must help others to see that Jesus Christ is humanity’s only hope. By trusting him as Saviour we will not end up on a River of Disappointment
“Humans grope their way through life’s dark maze
To gods unknown they often pray
Until one day they meet God’s Son
At last they’ve found The
Living One. Have you?
Those who put their hope in Christ will never be disappointed

GOD SAYS COME IN

As recorded by his followers, first (a) Matthew and then (b) John , JESUS CHRIST SAID
13"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew chapter 7)
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.
John chapter 10 verse 9.

Why did Jesus have to die on that first Good Friday?
Because he was too good to be true in the misled eyes of the Jewish leaders who saw him as a threat to their way of life

Back in the time of Moses God had given the Nation 10 Commandments to live by, known as The LAW. A simple code for basic daily living. By the time Jesus turned up the religious leaders had extended that to 260 laws and another 365 prohibitions.
Covering all aspects of daily living.

Jesus cut through all that red tape emphasising what interested God were just 2 commandments.
“Love the LORD your God will all your heart, mind, and strength, AND Love your neighbour as much as you love yourselves”

The Temple in Jerusalem had been dedicated to God as a place of prayer for all people, but the religious leaders, largely out touch with ordinary people’s lives had made it into a market place, selling “perfect” lambs or doves for sacrifices at exorbitant prices, exchanging real money for temple money at a high profit rate for the priests and segregating parts of it for women, men, strangers, and themselves.

Jesus lost his cool with them and threw out the traders. Jesus hated humbug, hypocrisy (acting good rather than being good) and injustice. Jesus way of doing

things was on a collision course with the Jewish religious and
political leaders. He undermined
their control of the people. They had become the unnecessary middlemen between God and humans. Because Jesus was so different from them, the religious leaders also regarded Him as an impostor and questioned his authority while the non-religious ordinary people said of him that he spoke with authority unlike the scribes and the Pharisees

For thousands of years God had sent prophets to lead his chosen people and they had disposed of most of them or ignored them
Finally God sent his own son. He was handed over to the civil power, the Romans and crucified.
At that point there was an earthquake and the huge curtain veiling the most sacred place in the temple was torn apart and in effect God left their midst. The Jews were on their own, and they have been on their own ever since, and suffered as a Nation greatly for that.

What matters to us all, Jew and non-Jew, now, is what happens when we die and our souls leave our bodies?. Where can we go? To some kind of dead end conscious existence or oblivious destruction, beyond God’s care or to live with Him for ever.?
God offers us the latter and we call it Heaven, but admission is limited to those who are good and in whose lives there is nothing

bad. The Bible unflatteringly says that we are all bad. So by our own merits none of us may enter Heaven. There is one chink in the gateway. Jesus stands there opening and closing the gate.
He wants us in. God wants us in.
but only those with clean hands and clean hearts are allowed in.

He died that we might be forgiven
He died to make us good
that we might go at last to Heaven
Saved by his precious blood

There was no other good enough to pay the price of sin
He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in.

O dearly, dearly has He loved
and we must love Him too
and trust in His redeeming blood
and try His works to do.

Were the whole realm
of Nature mine
That were an offering far too small
love so amazing
so divine
deserves my soul.,
my life, my all
