THE LIGHTHOUSE PRAYER MINISTRY NEWS AUGUST 2021
THE LIGHTHOUSE, 35 FOUR ACRES, SAFFRON WALDEN , CB11 3JD
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The Lighthouse Prayer Ministry year runs from July 1st when it’s predecessor began in 1954 to June 30th so we have just started the 68th year
Please note that the article about the Second Coming placed on this site on August 1st does not have our approval or permission, nor do we know who the author Michael is.
MALAWI So we began in July by donating a new desk for a school in Malawi that needs 50 as the children have to sit 6 feet apart now. Normally they would have sat 2 at a desk except for exams. In Malawi only 0.2% of the population have been vaccinated against Covid 19.
Pastor Enock Dimba wrote after their last tour of 29 villages mainly in the Northern Muslim area “ Thank you so much for your prayers that has made this trip possible we were able to visit 29 villages that include Nguluwe village which was not on our list. Although we had great opposition in verbal and action (our new tent was torn and the Bag of Pastor Pumila was stolen, our prayer board was burned due to some disturbance during the time we were showing the movie at Mbalika, we were stoned when we were coming from Malaina village and many villages we have been to most of youth were sent to disturb us during the Jesus movie, they were just shouting even beating some people who were at the movie). Many things happened but God’s favour was with us. While the opposition were there at various places, we saw 875 people receiving the Lord Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and many were delivered from different bondages. Praise the Lord! He was also able to visit his grandmother and talk to her but she declared her intention to die a Muslim. He asks that we pray for her.
Thank you very much for the money sent for Yao Bibles, We were able to give one Bible to the a Muslim village headman who attended our open air meeting. We have to use any way to reach unreached villages with the Good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and we were denied some villages to park our vehicle just because we are preaching Jesus Christ and we have to use bicycles in some areas to reach the villages as there were no access of roads .Although were denied some areas God favour was upon us as some villages were opening their doors including the village headmen. Clara [ Enock’s wife ] was helping some groups to understand their homiletics and the five questions. Thank you so much for making this available to everyone through your prayers. May God richly bless you. “
13 copies of WAR CRY we sent have arrived in Malawi, along with 50 copies of OUR DAILY BREAD, some BIBLE READING FELLOWSHIP BOOKLETS, and S.U. Bible Study notes donated by friend in UK to give out to new converts.
God is good! He has enabled them again to plan for another trip to our Brothers and Sisters in the Lord along the border of Malawi and Mozambique this month of August and below are the villages they intend to visit:-
13th Nkutche, 14th Josephy 15th Mbang’ombe 16th Khulira 17th Shavieli
18th Balango 19th Nyenyezi 20th Kamanga 21th Khundi 22nd Shilanga Village
23rd Chinchombwe 24th Malizani They need our prayers for God’s provisions of about £680 [for fuel of the vehicle, generator for Jesus movie and open air meetings, and teams food and transportation) £500 (for washable face masks to give to each who will come and attend the class of how to study the Bible using homiletics and the five questions) and £240 (for hand wash materials to every village they intend to visit). They needed £250, to replace the tent that was damaged on their last tour by Muslims. We have supplied that. Must keep the crew safe.
We hope this year to supply another bike for another pastor. These now cost £59. When we began helping with this they cost £45. This is a country that will be badly effected by the UK Government’s cuts in overseas aid. Originally they needed to provide 770 bikes to 70 overseers and 700 pastors. That is now down to 215.
KENYA 13 weeks SALVATIONIST magazines are on their way to Pastor Davis in Kenya for his inspiration.
NIGERIA Funding for 100 more Bibles has arrived in Nigeria. We are now setting aside income for another 250 to a pastor we have helped before.
ETHIOPIA We continue to send monthly funding for a Lay pastor and his Christian family in Ethiopia made homeless by Islamic terrorists in January. Letters to the BMS, BWA, and relief agencies to try get someone to visit them and find means of funding rebuilding of their home have gone unanswered.
PAKISTAN We have since last year continued sending funding for Pastor Patras’s family and have funded his ministerial training course for another year,
INDIA News has come from LIFE Association serving in INDIA and facing much opposition. A woman who works at project in Bihar shared her heartbreak for her husband who had been paralysed for two years. He had been prescribed all manner of medication, but he wasn’t improving. one of their partner pastors, told the woman that Jesus can heal her husband, and offered to go to their home and pray for him. They accepted, and as the pastor prayed Jesus touched the man and he was completely restored. After this remarkable healing, The pastor shared the hope of Jesus with the man. As soon as he heard the good news, he committed himself to Jesus, as did his whole family.
It is good to learn lately that many Muslims in Gaza are becoming Christians, and in Somalia and many Jews in Israel I get sensitive news from various places.
GLOBAL RECORDINGS NETWORK UK For 16 years we have donated annually a solar/clockwork player to remote locations with Scripture messages in several languages and the later edition could accept web downloads. Sent to 16 different African countries and 1 to Europe. They used to cost £60. They have replaced this with a more modern version of Megavoice MP3 machines costing £20, so this year 3 such are on the way from us to Malawi.
VIA MAGAZINE I’m hoping to be able to get out soon to resume distributing VIA Gospel magazine to new homes on the outskirts of town, a distribution suppressed in March 2020, I have 1200 copies to make use of as new homes come on stream VIA, meaning THE WAY, carries links to various websites for finding out more including the local churches through the Churches Together Website.
PROBLEMS June was a month beset with problems. My computer crashed Then the Printer has played up and would not print 3 times over 6 weeks until I discovered the new computer was trying to use a non existent printer instead of the default Canon I use. Everything is working now but the version of Windows 10 on the new Computer is much advanced to the earlier version on the old one so I am on a learning curve. My thanks to the friend who helped buy the new one.
It is interesting to note that there are still parts of the Amazon rain forest and Papua New Guinea that while mapped from the air have not been explored on foot, and in recent years new unknown tribes have been discovered. MAF began out of that and I’ve been supporting them and Wycliffe Translators for years.
I still support RADIO OUTREACH based in Cumbria, they have reached millions in 56 years and are active around the world on local radio networks and social media platforms. I also reach out over 10 FACEBOOK Groups and our web Board site.
Various Missions include:- Stephen’s Children Egypt / Open Doors Vietnam / Torch Trust UK / Hagafen Trust Israel .The amount above for Bibles includes Nigeria, Pakistan, Kenya, Malawi, India and Ghana. Thank you all for your help. We are a small company a Trust Fund and 30 donors who also pray, and 8 more who pray, some of whom give literature to send overseas. All help is much appreciated by those we are serving, Kind regards JOHN.
